What facilities are there for outside play?

The club uses a fully enclosed outside play area with a shelter for outside games, there is also regular access to the school fields in summer.  We employ staff who are specialists in organising games.  We have use of lots of equipment such as balls and rackets and pop up tents etc.  


What activities can the children do at out of school club?

We try to have an activity to suit all tastes- as well as outside play we have a computer, television , books , board games, connect 4,  Jenga.  Daily activities such as baking, or bendees, bead making , face painting,  painting and model making , table football, a snooker table, toys such as cars, trains and barbies, lots of imaginative play materials such as play food and dressing up and we always have pens, stencils, and paper for drawing.    


In the Holiday can my child attend on ad hoc basis?

Yes if there is availability, at the holiday club activities, you can choose any sessions you want.  


My child attends Kirkburton First School – can you take him/her to school?

Yes we escort children to Kirkburton School using a local reliable Taxi Service.


Will you be able to collect my child from Kirkburton school ?

Yes we collect children and bring them to the out of school club using a reliable Taxi Service.


Can my children have a snack at after school club?

Yes we have a changing menu of a light meal (what the children at out of school club call “Tea”) see the menu list.

 

If my child attends in the morning will you provide Breakfast before school?

Children will be offered a healthy breakfast of toast, cereal, yoghurt and fruit and juice or water. 


How can I get involved with the running of the club?

We are always looking for new Committee members and people who want to get involved – Please speak to someone about club committee meetings. (Roughly every half term). 


I have a talent, would you like me to share it with the children?

We welcome parents or relatives who can share talents with the children – perhaps you are a fireman, or a park ranger, a hairdresser or an artist.     


How can my children feel included in the choice of menus and activities?

We are always asking parents and children for feedback on menus and activities please see our suggestion box. 

    

My child is going to move up to Kirkburton Middle School can she still attend the club?

Yes we pick up children in year 6 from middle school (there is a possibility this may be extended to year 7 in the future).


Can you pick my child up from after school activities such as dance group or choir?

Yes we can pick up from Highburton First School at a later time by special arrangement.    

 

My child has special needs/requirements can you accommodate him/her ?

We would like to be inclusive (we have a disabled access ramp and disabled toilet facilities) please discuss your requirements with Angela Green


My child needs a special diet can this be accommodated?

Please discuss any special requirements with the staff at the club.
